Obituary for James C. Lanier

James C. Lanier
James C. Lanier, age 67, passed away on March 30th after a long illness at the Signature Health Care Facility in Algood, TN. A native of Joliet IL, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary of Joliet and is survived by his brother Bob, Danville, CA, his beloved aunt, Eleanor, Plainfield, IL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. After a 30-year career with Caterpillar Tractor Inc., he retired to Tennessee and made his home in the Crossville, TN area. Jim was a loyal and generous friend; a tender and sensitive soul who touched all who knew him in a special way. He was a lifelong and loyal Chicago Cub fan and lived to see his beloved “Cubbies” win the 2016 World Series. He now passes on to a better place; our world will be a little less innocent without him in it. After a private service, internment will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery, Joliet.
